Why Sales?

 

In the prolonged uncertainty about my career path, I eventually found myself drawn to the expansive world of business. However, even within this domain, the challenge persisted as I struggled to pinpoint a specific specialization amidst the rapid evolution of industries. The swift pace of the business world makes it easy to select a path that might not align with one's true calling. Yet, through my experiences in sales, a sense of clarity emerged, revealing a profound connection to my vocation.

Embracing the role of a sales representative within the distinguished College of Business has proven to be an exciting and enlightening journey. As someone naturally inclined toward introversion, public speaking and presenting were not inherent strengths. However, stepping beyond my comfort zone became an unexpected source of enjoyment. While I am still adjusting to the dynamics of networking and engaging with people, the process is undeniably thrilling and filled with vitality. Each interaction brings new insights and contributes to a deeper appreciation of the vibrant and dynamic business landscape that I am now enthusiastic to explore.

The Professional Selling Program


The Professional Selling Track is strategically designed to foster a distinctive cohort of students into future leaders in the sales domain, equipped with proficiency across a range of sectors including consumer goods, services, technology, medical supplies, advertising, and more. Emphasizing experiential learning through pedagogical tools, this innovative cohort-based sales program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of state-of-the-art sales practices and techniques. Supported by a mentorship program, immersive role-play exercises, and a diverse array of contemporary sales methods, the curriculum guarantees a robust and dynamic preparation, positioning students for success in the ever-evolving landscape of the sales arena.

  • The competitive program accepts no more than 35 exceptional students each year who show potential and promise in the fascinating and lucrative field of sales.


  • One of only about 120 specialized sales undergraduate programs in the nation, the Professional Selling Track is at the forefront in preparing students for successful careers in the competitive job market of today.
